This message looks at the testimony of the faithful servant in Genesis 24.
There were seven (7) key takeaways pertaining to the servant.
1. A servant has no name. (Gen 24:1-3)
a. A servant’s heart is not provoked by self-recognition. A servant’s name/identity is in the one he serves. (Col 3:1-4)
2. A servant is obedient. (Gen 24:3-4, 9-10)
a. A servant goes where he is sent. A servant does what he is commanded. (Luk 6:46)
3. A servant is prayerful and thankful.
a. A servant prays. (Gen 24:12-14).
i. A servant seeks the Lord’s blessing and direction in the commission wherewith he is given. (Psa 119:105, 127:1)
b. A servant waits on the Lord to answer prayer. (Gen 24:21, Psa 27:14)
c. A servant praises the Lord for answered prayer. (Gen 24:26-27, Psa 150:6)
4. A servant is about his master’s business first. (Gen 24:33)
a. A servant esteem’s his master’s words/commission greater than worldly comforts. (Job 23:12)
5. A servant speaks of his master. (Gen 24:34-48)
a. A servant identifies his master through his actions and his words. (Gen 2:33-34)
b. A servant share’s his master’s words. (Gen 24:37-41; Joh 17:8)
c. A servant sings the praises of his master (the Lord). (Gen 24:42-48; Psa 66:16)
6. A servant gives gifts of his master. (Gen 24:53)
a. A servant shares the gifts/treasures of God’s Word. (Pro 2:1-4, Luk 12:48)
7. A servant is not hindered by others or the world. (Gen 24:55-56)
a. A servant refuses to let anyone or anything hinder him from what God has called them to. (Mar 4:18-19)
