The C&YA Men's Retreat was intended to encourage our young men to have a vision for their lives and to understand what it means to be a leader.

Our faith includes laying down our lives for others. As we compare Col 3:10 and Hebrews 12:2 we see that it is through our fellowship with Christ in laying down our lives that we get our joy.

Once we are saved from our sin, we instantly become children of the King. But what does that mean? What does that look like? From 2 Corinthians, Paul gives us some simple examples of how to approach life and live as the new creatures that we have become.

Paul gives us insight into his life by describing the same struggle that every Christian experiences. Even with our new nature, even if we want to follow God, sin seems to be lurking in the shadows. How do we transcend this struggle? The answer if "minding the things of the Spirit."

The Bema Seat of Judgment is where every believer ends up. It is where we see the reality of Christ and who he was in our life on earth. This can either frighten us or it can motivate us.

Paul articulates how Christ's death, burial and resurrection is a present truth in the Christian's life. Romans 6 teaches us that because we are dead to sin our flesh cannot have power over us. We learn that because of the resurrection we have the power to walk in newness of life.

While Peter spends time ministering in the port city of Joppa, he and a distant gentile centurion have complimentary visions from the Lord. One vision is a warning, and the other, a directive to put down the old ways. The result is that the gospel is preached for the first time to a gentile.

Worship becomes our lifestyle when we worship in spirit and in truth.
